Here are pictures of skirts I have completed in the last couple of months. I was taking pictures of them all today, so I thought I'd show you what I've been up to.
This first skirt is three panels, front and back, (six total) and is flared at the base. I made it out of some narrow corduroy. The material is pretty heavy and durable. It will be a great winter skirt. I sewed a pocket in the right seam and a lapped zipper on the left side with a hook and loop fastener.
This second skirt is made from a wool-like material. (Maybe wool, maybe a poly/wool blend, I'm not sure. I get a lot of my materials second hand and sometimes I have to guess about what they are made from.)
I put a zipper/ button closer down the center front. This skirt has four panels (total) and darts at the waist band. I made belt loops and side seam pockets for this skirt. This skirt would also make a nice winter skirt. :)
I got a little creative on this third skirt. I started with a half circle skirt and added a sewn in ruffled petticoat. (Again, this would make a good winter skirt.) I thought the petticoat would make the hemline look kind of like it was floating, just to add a little visual interest. I put a pocket in the right seam and an invisible zipper in the left seam with a button and latch fastener at the top.
And, finally, this is a denim skirt that I just finished this morning.
I am very happy with how it turned out. It is very full and has all the bells and whistles; (In my opinion, other women may have different preferences.) Front pockets, back pockets, belt loops, and topstitching. It is very long. It is a little too long for me. (It drags on the floor. I am kind of short. :))
That is what I've been working on.
I hope you all have a good day! :)
